Birdie

Birdie came home in June 2022 and has been so much fun to have around. She is a fantastic combination of drive, biddability and confidence and for such a young dog, is very focused and loves to work and learn.

Birdie’s temperament is her best asset, nothing fazes this girl. She is calm until called upon and then ready to work with an abundance of Toller enthusiasm.

Birdie finished her Australian Championship in January 2023 with some nice wins along the way, including a 9 point Best of Breed at just 6.5 months old, and another at 8 months old under Canadian judge Mrs Darle Heck.

At the 2023 Anzac Day supported entry show, in a breed entry of 16, Birdie was awarded Junior of Breed, Bitch Challenge (11 points), R/Up Best of Breed and Junior in Group.

She was Baby Puppy of Breed at the prestigious Royal Melbourne Show in 2022, and followed it up with Best of Breed in 2023 in an entry of 10 Tollers, where she received the following critique from FCI All Breed Judge, Mrs Annika Ulltveit-Moe (Sweden). "Excellent type, very feminine, nice expression and ear carriage. Excellent proportions in body, well ribbed for age, good tail, nice colour and markings. Easy going."

At the 2023 Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club of Victoria Specialty, Birdie was awarded Best Head from a large class, as well as Highest Scoring Rally Novice and overall High in Trial, finishing her Rally Novice (RN) title with scores of 96/96/100.

She is also showing great promise in performance sports and has her Junior Courser (JC) and Trick Dog Starter (TK.S) titles, three legs towards her Trick Dog Novice (TK.N) and two towards her SprintDog™ Novice (N.SPRD).

May 2024 update - Birdie received her final A2O CAC (Certificat d'Aptitude au Championnat) making her eligible for the FCI title of Asia, Africa & Oceania Champion. She is one of the first two Tollers in Australia to be awarded this title

Thank you to the following judges who awarded her: Mrs Sue Goldberg (USA), Miss Anna Ancell (NZ), Ms Christy Jei Wang (China) and Ms Pamela Campbell (Aus).

Birdie also received her first CACIB (Certificat d'Aptitude au Championnat International de Beauté) with a grading of Excellent under Mr Peerapong Pisitwuttinan from Thailand.
